Crystal Palace up against Atletico Madrid in a transfer fight isn’t something which happens often, but L’Equipe report it’s a possibility this month.

Roy Hodgson’s side have been linked with signings around Europe in the winter market, with the Italian sport media particularly keen to drag them into endless transfer rumours.

This time the claims are coming from France, and L’Equipe state Palace are trying to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri.

He’s an 18 year old left sided player, who primarily plays as a left-back but could be deployed further up if so required.

L’Equipe seriously talk up Crystal Palace’s interest, and it’s stated the Premier League club have ‘accelerated’ to try and get a deal done. They want to complete the youngster’s signing in the current transfer market, and are working to do so.

Hodgson’s side have so far had ‘several exchanges’, both with the Ligue 1 club and the player’s entourage. Angers are looking for a big fee, and whilst it’s stated that could ‘complicate’ the transfer, there’s no figure attached.

Atletico Madrid ‘could’ provide competition, although there’s no further claims about that either.
