Vincent Janssen hasn’t scored yet in the Premier League, he hasn’t yet scored in any competition for Tottenham Hotspur.

Of course it’s early days, Janssen has only started one Premier League match, and at 22 years of age the move to the Premier League was a big jump for the player.

Nevertheless, the criticism was bound to come and Voetbal Primeur in the Netherlands have covered some of the bashing Janssen has been getting.

It’s fair to say Dutch fans aren’t thrilled with some of the comments from the English media and English football fans.

Voetbal Primeur’s round-up of criticism has received comments like:

‘Football reporters just want sensation… Even though they have to make something out of nothing.’

‘Now it is important to Janssen that he does not attract too much attention from the English press, always nagging.’

‘Did you expect anything else. They have also helped f*** Memphis.’

Whilst most of the comments were along those lines, there was some criticism of the player’s choice to move after a good Eredivisie season:

‘You hear nothing more about him for 2 years! Biggest mistake for him to go to this club.’

However, things could change very quickly. Harry Kane’s injury means that Janssen is likely to get more starts, and therefore a greater chance to get the ball in the back of the net.
