Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has no plans to leave Old Trafford this summer, a source has told Sport Witness.
Earlier on Friday, a report from Italy stated the forward’s time with the Red Devils is ‘over’, due to the lack of Champions League football at United next season and difficulties fitting into Erik ten Hag’s new project at the club.
Therefore, the 37-year-old’s agent, Jorge Mendes was said to be hard at work to help the Portugal international find a new club in the ongoing window. AS Roma and Sporting were named as possible options.
However, a source has told Sport Witness there is no truth in reports linking the former Real Madrid star with a move away from the Premier League side. As it stands, Ronaldo ‘will stay’ at United.
Last month, Ten Hag, in his first press conference, had also insisted the forward will be included in his plans as the former Ajax manager expects “goals” from him next term.
Towards the end of the 2021 summer window, Ronaldo left Juventus and returned to Old Trafford. He signed a two-year deal, with an option to further extend it by 12 months. The attacker managed 24 goals and three assists from 39 matches last season.
