Earlier on Thursday, we saw Portuguese outlet RTP reporting that Cristiano Ronaldo will be flying to Manchester today.
Since the 36-year-old was booked in Portugal’s match against Ireland last night and thus banned from the for next game, he’s been released from the national team and will be able to anticipate his arrival to England.
Now even though RTP also claimed that Ronaldo wants to start training with Manchester United as soon as possible, they now come with an update saying it will still be a while until he’s able to join the squad.
It’s now claimed that due to Premier League rules, the player must spend five days in isolation before showing up at the club. They say this is information official from the Old Trafford side.
It’s mentioned there’s some speculation on whether Cristiano Ronaldo has the ‘double vaccination’ for Covid or not, but also claimed this is not the issue, since it’s really the Premier League rule which stops him from joining Manchester United now.
Also according to Manchester United, he will not have a presentation to the fans before the match against Newcastle United on the 11th of September. All trainings before that are set to take place behind closed doors.
Cristiano Ronaldo is said to be eager to make his debut in that fixture, and with the five-day isolation, the only way to be ready for the match would be by getting booked and suspended from the national team, which is exactly what happened.
