For the last two days, Arsenal have been dragged again into the mix to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen.
These reports started to resurface after the striker publicly stated that “anything can happen this summer”, and admitted he is aware of the rumours linking him to clubs in England and Spain.
On June 16th, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Gunners are preparing an offer for the 23-year-old.
It was also stated Mikel Arteta’s side have moved more concretely than other clubs to land the Nigeria international in the ongoing window.
Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni, writing in his column for TuttoMercatoWeb, explains the Naples club are ‘agitated’ by the former Lille man’s recent comments about the possibility of leaving the Serie A side.
Luciano Spalletti’s man is worth €100m for Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis. As per Bucchioni, if Arsenal were to make a proposal worth that fee, then it would be a ‘crime to say no’ to that offer, since the ‘law of football today is the law of the market’.
The journalist states he isn’t in favour of the Italian club cutting ties with the player, but believes Osimhen’s sale could see Napoli reinvest that money [€100m] on bolstering their squad.
