Coventry City star Viktor Gyökeres has hailed Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne as “one of the best in the world” as he gears up to face him and Belgium with Sweden.
The striker was speaking to Fotboll Skanalen ahead of Sweden’s clash with Belgium this evening in UEFA Euro qualifying.
The Coventry City star and his international team will be considered underdogs for the clash, despite being at home, with the Red Devils looking to make a flying start to life under Domenico Tedesco and banish any ill feeling from their poor World Cup campaign.
Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne will be key to that, with the midfielder set to continue playing a main role for his country, as he has done since making his debut in 2010.
Stopping him hitting the levels he has achieved with Manchester City has often been the key to stopping Belgium and that is something Gyökeres is more than aware of.
“He is quite good. It’s important to make sure he’s not allowed to do what he wants,” the Coventry City man said.
“He is one of the best in the world and the best from Belgium. It’s important to keep an eye on him.”
