Philippe Coutinho has returned to Liverpool, but, as you may have guessed by now, it isn’t to play football.

Fresh off his debut for Barcelona, the former Anfield star is actually using one of his free days (on Tuesday) to hang out with his former teammates on Merseyside.

According to Sport, the attacking midfielder hopped on a private plane on Monday to fly to Liverpool with his mother and his daughter in order to attend his ‘farewell party’.

The whole squad is expected to attend, as well as the club’s technical staff (will Jürgen Klopp be there?), and Coutinho is expected to use this time to properly say goodbye to everyone, which he wasn’t able to do when his transfer to Barcelona initially took place.

Sport reckon he’ll use this time to tell his friends how his first few days at the La Liga leaders were, what the city is like and how he was welcomed in the dressing room of the ‘best club in the world’.

Will Coutinho send the Catalan newspaper detailed minutes of the event after it’s happened? We sure hope so.
