It’s safe to say Gabriel Barbosa has been one of the biggest disappointments of the last summer window. After impressing at Santos and winning the Olympic gold for Brazil, it would be expected he’d get more of a chance at Inter Milan.

Inter would already be thinking of getting rid of the 20 year old, according to Calcio Mercato.it today, who feel Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool will be interested in that news. The club’s patience doesn’t seem to be strong and a deal will be sought.

The website claims there’s the chance that Inter could move the player on a loan deal to a smaller Italian club. But if from the Premier League or La Liga show up wanting a permanent deal, Inter are open to a sale. Especially if it gives them the possibility to recover the €30m paid almost an year ago.

It’s interesting that the only club outside of Italy mentioned is Liverpool. It’s not clear if the information is new or if Calcio Mercato.it are reawakening rumours from months ago, Liverpool is a fitting enough destination for the Italian website.

Gabriel has one goal in 153 minutes played for Inter this season. Despite having left Santos at the age of 19, he scored 57 times for the club. The hope in Brazil is that Gabigol could be a flop at Inter but succeed somewhere else, something similar to what happened to Philippe Coutinho before joining Liverpool.

Ah, that’s probably where they’ve got the Liverpool idea from.
