Liverpool are interested in a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham, but Jurgen Klopp has ‘inhibitions’ about a move.

That’s according to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, who says the Liverpool manager is not keen on signing players from his former club.

Bellingham is quickly establishing himself as one of the hottest prospects in Europe with his performances for Dortmund, where he is now a regular in the first team.

He’s also now a permanent fixture in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, something which has only further thrust him into the spotlight.

Rumours about a return to England have started to pick up pace, with Liverpool surprisingly thrown to the front of the queue of admirers.

Several reports in England and in Europe have named them as admirers, with the latest stating that Jurgen Klopp was ‘chasing’ the midfielder as the long-term replacement for the departed Georginio Wijnaldum.

Whether that’s true remains to be seen, but Falk says it is, although he can’t see a transfer happening soon.

“Of course it’s true, Liverpool are very interested, but Jurgen Klopp has inhibitions about signing Dortmund players,” he told BILD.

“The contact with the club is also relatively good, so that will be difficult, especially since he still has a longer contract.

“I think he will end up on the island at some point, but, unlike Haaland, Dortmund fans can be hopeful that he will definitely play at least one more season.”
