Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has revealed he would like to stay at Stuttgart beyond the end of the season.
The defender is currently enjoying a second straight loan spell with the German side, having initially joined them at the start of last season in the 2.Bundesliga.
He was a key player for them across the campaign as they returned to the Bundesliga at the first time of asking with a 2nd place finish.
Initially, it appeared he would not be returning to the club as they struggled to get a deal done with Arsenal because of their tight financial situation.
However, the two clubs eventually struck a complicated loan deal that saw Mavropanos return.
He’s maintained his status as a key player for the side, starring in the heart of their defence and leading them to 14th in the table.
The deal with Arsenal includes a purchase clause if certain circumstances are met, and the defender is hoping that he can continue with them beyond the end of the season.
“Of course I can imagine that,” he told BILD when asked if it is his wish to stay.
“But we have to wait and see. For me, everything is perfect at the moment. The club and the city.”
