Former Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembélé deserved more credit and was the best player Vinent Janssen ever played with.
That’s according to the striker himself, who has been praising the midfielder in comments relayed by Voetbal Primeur.
Janssen has been busy speaking about his time at Tottenham this week, admitting he doesn’t think he deserved more playing time at the club during his unsuccessful spell as he knew Harry Kane was much better than him.
He was full of praise for the England striker, who was one of several talented player he played alongside despite his brief spell in North London.
Dembélé was another of them, joining Tottenham in a €19m deal from Fulham in August 2012 and going on to make 249 appearances for the club in the following seven years before leaving for China.
He was a firm fan favourite during that time, earning plaudits for his ability on the ball, with many believing he was one of the most underrated midfielders in the Premier League.
Janssen certainly seems to subscribe to that theory, insisting that the midfielder was easily the best player he played with.
“He was the best I played with,” he said.
“You simply could not take the ball away from him. And he always did something good with it. He was really incredible. He could do everything.”
