Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer has received accolades in the Norwegian media following his country’s 2-0 victory last night.
The youngster started the game and was given a 7/10 for his display.
TV2 have reported on the game in Oslo and they were impressed by the Celtic man’s contribution: “Cool and calm with the ball, he delivered a solid match for Norway. He wasn’t fully tested defensively, but the times he was involved he was in full control with his partner.”
In the past few days most of the talk in the Scottish and Norwegian press has been about Ajer’s altercation with Rangers’ goalkeeper Allan McGregor a few days ago. The former Scotland international kicked out at the Celtic player during Brendan Rodgers’ side 1-0 victory last Sunday.
However, Ajer put this to the back on his mind throughout the preparations for the Cyprus game with one Norwegian newspaper saying he wasn’t fazed about what happened during the Old Firm clash. Despite being asked repeatedly about it, he’s not wanted to stir the pot.
Ajer’s country will now face Bulgaria next week in their second game of the UEFA Nations League and they’ll be looking for another three points in Sofia.
