It’s safe to say that if Antonio Conte walks out of Chelsea at the end of the season, it wouldn’t catch anyone by surprise.
But despite many reports of a bad relationship with players and the club’s board, Tutto Mercato Web comes up with an exclusive story today saying there’s other reason why the Italian boss is choosing not to stay.
According to the website, he’s made up his mind to leave Chelsea at the end of the season, and that’s because he needs a better place for his family.
TMW claims that Conte lives in Cobham, near Chelsea’s training ground, a place which is ‘almost isolated’ and there isn’t much to do there.
That’s why his wife isn’t happy and keeps pushing for a move. Conte would attend to her request and leave the club at the end of the season, while PSG keeps pressing him to move to Paris.
This is all quite curious, because just over a week ago, Antonio Conte himself spoke to the Italian media and said: “My future? It’s better to think about Chelsea, I have two years of contract and I want to live this incredible experience here, I’m learning another culture, another language and another football, and I want to give a chance to my family and my daughter to learn English. My present is very important.”
With the manager saying he’s staying because of his family, claiming he’s leaving because of his family would suggest he’s not telling the truth… or that TMW haven’t put enough thought into this one.
