As you might have learnt over the past few months, Marcelo Brozovic’s contract at Inter is edging towards expiring.

Yet to renew his deal, which is meant to end in June 2022, the midfielder has found himself in the sights of many European clubs, with Tottenham, led by their director of football Fabio Paratici, chief among them.

The arrival of Antonio Conte hasn’t changed anything either; in fact, it’s made the stories grow in number and Spurs’ interest more prominent.

This is exemplified by an article by TuttoMercatoWeb on Wednesday that looks at the Croatian’s situation at Inter, with it made clear there is a ‘distance in the numbers’ between what Brozovic wants from Inter and what the Serie A side are prepared to give him.

While the stance is always the same, in that he would prefer to renew than go elsewhere, it’s noted that interested clubs ‘aren’t lacking’.

Paris Saint-Germain are mentioned, as are Newcastle, but it’s Tottenham’s inclusion that seems the most convincing, as they claim the midfielder has the ‘well-known approval of Antonio Conte’, who ‘would welcome him with open arms’ at Spurs.

Certainly one to keep an eye on going forward, because the longer he goes without renewing, the stronger these stories will get.
