Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici’s potential arrival at Tottenham could open the door to a sensational move for Gianluigi Donnarumma.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who cover the situation around Donnarumma at this moment in time and says Tottenham could be an option.
The Italian’s contract with AC Milan is expiring this summer, and he’s likely to leave the club as a result, with them having called his bluff over his wage demands.
They’ve already secured a replacement in Mike Maignan, and so now Donnarumma, and his agent Mino Raiola, need to find him a new club willing to pay what he wants.
All of the top clubs are studying a move, but the biggest issue is that none of them actually need a new number one.
That could change at Tottenham soon, though, as Jose Mourinho is keen on taking Hugo Lloris to Roma with him.
That would open up a gap to be filled, and the ‘Paratici-Conte variable’ should not be ‘underestimated’.
If they decide to team up at Tottenham, a ‘decisive insertion for Donnarumma cannot be excluded’.
In other words, they may do everything in their power to convince the Italian to make the move to London.
If not, Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is also an option.
The feeling is he is the one Tottenham are more likely to target if Lloris leaves, thus opening the door for Juventus to move for Donnarumma, but there remains the fact he used to play for London arch-rivals Arsenal.
It’s all a little complex so to be clear, Tottenham could make a move for Donnarumma if they get Conte and Paratici to join, but Szczesny is also an option.
