Chelsea were strongly linked to Benfica’s Victor Lindelof during the transfer window, but nothing really materialised.
Reports in the Portuguese media even suggested Chelsea had matched his release clause of €30m.
According to a latest report on Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea remain interested in signing the Swedish defender.
The Premier League side face competition from Inter and Paris-Saint Germain, who are also keeping tabs on the 22-year-old.
CDS confirm Lindelof has a release clause of €30m, but it maybe increased to €45m should he sign a contract renewal at the Portuguese club.
Chelsea signed David Luiz from PSG on transfer deadline day, and may have Andreas Christensen returning from loan next summer. Kurt Zouma is also expect to regain his fitness in the next few months so it remains to be seen if Antonio Conte would still be interested in signing Lindelof.
If he is, another transfer battle with PSG would await Chelsea.
