On Thursday, Calciomercato.it reported AS Roma have rejected a Tottenham Hotspur proposal of €25m plus Joe Rodon in exchange for Nicolò Zaniolo.
Antonio Conte has long been an admirer of Zaniolo and tried signing the winger during his time at Inter Milan.
Tutto Juve state the ex-Chelsea manager will try to take the 23-year-old again, this time for Tottenham. Conte seems ‘intent on convincing’ the Spurs leaders to make an offer for the Serie A star.
Tottenham are joined by Juventus, and at the moment the Old Lady seem a little quiet in the transfer chase.
Calciomercato explain the attacker’s future is ‘far from defined’, while the Giallorossi are hoping to retain him for at least one more season. They are also considering discussing a renewal in September, if there are no movements in the summer window.
José Mourinho’s side will face Tottenham in a friendly on July 30th and this tie could give the Premier League side a chance to take stock of the situation.
The wideman prefers to continue in Serie A, where only Juve have him in their thoughts. The Turin club would consider a move if the conditions are favourable, but they are not ready to meet the terms set by Roma.
An asking price is put at €50m, either through a straight sale or a loan with the obligation to buy.
Meanwhile, La Repubblica state the Premier League club have not stopped thinking about the player. They back-up the €50m request, and say Spurs would have ‘no problem’ meeting such a demand for Zaniolo, which doesn’t quite fit with the claim of a €25m plus Rodon offer.
