Following Antonio Conte’s arrival at Tottenham Hotspur, the north London club have been busy in the last two windows.
Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, Ivan Perišić, Yves Bissouma and a few others were added to the Spurs squad this year.
The 53-year-old manager’s deal runs down at the end of this season. Tottenham retain an option to extend it further by a year but are looking to their coach down to a new contract.
TuttoMercatoWeb deputy director Raimondo De Magistris, writing in his column, explains Spurs will continue to invest on new signings with Conte at the helm. He is known to be demanding in the market, which has seen the club spend €170m in the last two windows.
Conte ‘hopes almost as much can be spent in January 2023’, with an ‘implied threat’ that ‘without an important market’ he will ‘hardly renew his contract’ at Tottenham.
The TMW journalist adds that a ‘new pharaonic transfer campaign’ is being prepared by Spurs for their manager.
It’ll be interesting to see the investments Tottenham plan to make in the winter market, in order to retain Conte for the long-term.
