Tottenham are open to loaning forward Bryan Gil to Valencia again in January, but Antonio Conte is demanding a replacement is signed first.

That’s according to Super Deporte, who cover the situation around the youngster today as the Spanish side eye another deal for him.

They explain that Valencia are looking to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season and the club’s transfer department have been given permission to seek transfers following a meeting with Peter Lim in Singapore.

They have a ‘catalogue of options’ and Tottenham’s Gil is one of the players they are ‘keeping an eye on’ ahead of the window opening.

He was on the verge of a return to the cub in the summer following a successful loan spell last season, but that deal was blocked late on by Tottenham as Conte wanted a replacement through the door first.

The youngster’s situation has not improved since then, with Gil only managing 74 minutes in total, and another move away is looking likely.

Gattuso would like to have him back at the Mestalla and Tottenham are open to sanctioning another loan deal, but Conte’s stance has not changed. He will not let the player leave until he has a replacement in his squad.

Valencia are especially keen as the deal would be free of cost, at least in terms of transfer fee, which fits into the strict financial structure they’ve had to put in place.

It all depends on Conte sanctioning it first, though, which in turn is dependent on Spurs getting a replacement through the door in January.
