With the Italian media always keeping an eye on Antonio Conte, they have also been following his current situation with Tottenham Hotspur.
The fact that the manager hasn’t been able to stay in charge of the team is a subject in his home country’s media, where they now say he’s sorely missed by the squad.
The latest comments on this situation were made by Massimo Brambati on TMW Radio as he was speaking of Milan’s clash against Tottenham in the Champions League, and pointed out that the Rossoneri may find some advantage on Conte’s absence.
“Tottenham is missing Bentancur a lot, Conte is not there physically,” Brambati told TMW Radio.
“And in the long run, an absence like that weighs like that of a player. But if Tottenham get the right game right, it’s painful.”
Conte is currently recovering from gallbladder surgery, and is not expected to follow Tottenham’s squad in games until he’s completely fit.
The manager had made an early return to his role, but then had to admit that was a mistake, and is now taking his second break in Italy.
It’s not yet confirmed when Conte will be back in charge, despite Tottenham having very important games in the coming weeks.
For now, it’s assistant Cristian Stellini who’s in charge of the team, making sure everything goes as well as possible pitch side.
