It’s no secret that Manchester United scout dozens of Portuguese League games every month.

That’s work that has been done since José Mourinho took charge of the club, and that’s something so regular that we don’t cover their presence anymore, unless their interest in some specific player is pointed out.

And since the Red Devils were linked to Éder Militão from Porto, local newspapers started picking this chase for the headlines of the scouting stories.

At the weekend it was reported, again in Portugal, that Manchester United have now taken the first step and contacted the player’s agents about a transfer. A Bola explained the English club wanted to know the conditions of a transfer, so contacted Giuliano Bertolucci and Kia Joorabchian.

It was stated the condition is simple: €50m.

This Monday, as Record reports the scouting list of Boavista versus Porto, they highlight United’s presence at Estádio do Bessa.

Record writes that the Premier League side ‘continue to closely follow’ the player, and have attended the match to ‘collect some more notes’. They recall that the Old Trafford side also watched Militão in action against Schalke 04 last week.

Local Porto newspaper O Jogo didn’t really like Militão’s performance against Boavista.

They point out a couple of mistakes and say the player wasn’t ‘so serene’ as usual. That’s why they gave him a 5 out of 10 rating.
