Feyenoord are betting on the summer arrival of Pascal Struijk from Leeds United but could face competition from Tottenham and others.
That’s according to Football Transfers in the Netherlands, who report on Feyenoord’s interest via ‘watcher’ Rutget Vinke.
They explain that Feyenoord are eyeing up the defender as a replacement for Dávid Hancko, who seems destined for a big summer move away.
The Dutch club have already been in contact with Leeds about the 25-year-old and getting a deal done for him.
Struijk has been in and out of the picture at Elland Road this season due to injuries and has a contract that runs until 2027. This summer could be an ideal time for them to move him on as a result and Feyenoord want to take advantage of that.
The big question is whether it would be feasible as Tottenham are also interested in signing him and it was reported that Leeds wanted as much as €30m back in December. That would put him out of Feyenoord’s range even if they secure a big sale for Hancko.
He’s being courted by Juventus, who were blocked from getting him in January, and Atletico Madrid and could have other suitors beyond them.
Struijk would be an ideal replacement, but the competition could be big for the Leeds man, with Tottenham suitors and undoubtedly able to spend more.
