The Mexican media today shares some curious news about Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez.
W Deportes reports that the 31-year-old, who has spent the past couple of weeks in his home country while recovering from his hip injury, was now requested by Wolves to return to England.
The Molineux side want him to continue with his work at the club, as they’re eager to check if he could play with them before joining the national team for friendlies in preparation for the World Cup.
Besides his hip issue, Wolves are also worried about the head injury he had. They’re said to have a ‘special concern’ regarding his physical and mental state.
The story sounds a little contradicting because despite claiming the Premier League club want to check if he’ll soon be ready to play for them, W Radio wonders if his return to England means he’s less likely to play the World Cup.
Perhaps the Mexican media are afraid that Wolves may have a different opinion from the national team, and maybe block him from the tournament, despite him being included in Mexico’s pre-list of 31 names this week.
