PSV could be forced to find a different venue when they face Queens Park Rangers next week in Eindhoven. The Championship side are set to play the Dutch champions next Friday at the Philips Stadium, but this could be stopped by the local authorities due to security fears.
PSV last night released a statement on their official website to confirm the game with QPR at the Philips Stadium is in doubt next Friday.
PSV have said despite the concerns of the local council, security officials of the Dutch club haven’t found any reason why there could be disturbances. However, as it stands it seems like a different location may need to be found for the game to go ahead.
“PSV was aware of turmoil surrounding the exhibition game, but further investigation by the security services of PSV and the opponent in the Netherlands and England, found no confirmations on the imminent disturbances,” said a spokesperson for the club.
Next week’s game with PSV will be QPR’s second pre-season game following their clash with Aldershot tomorrow. The West London side are also set to play FC Groningen whilst in the Netherlands.
