Even though the English media is now confident that Felipe Anderson is leaving West Ham for Porto today, with the BBC confirming the move, the Portuguese media see it differently.

Newspaper O Jogo brought a story this morning where they say the move fell through as things got ‘complicated’ last night.

The outlet doesn’t make it clear what the problem was, but says Porto chose to go for Grêmio winger Pepê instead, as the club are signing him on a €15m deal.

Newspaper Jornal de Notícias also writes this morning that the deal still depended on some details to be sorted, especially because Felipe Anderson has a big market value.

Over at A Bola, it’s claimed the deal isn’t happening as well.

First because manager Fábio Conceição is more focused on the arrival of Pepê, and also because the West Ham player’s salary is too high.

Felipe Anderson doesn’t seem to be in David Moyes’ plans for the season, and was only used at the last minute of the two first games in the Premier League, and didn’t come off the bench in the last two.

The Brazilian’s contract with the Hammers runs until 2022.
