Last week, we reported Swansea are interested in signing Atletico Madrid striker Borja Baston. The 23 year old spent the last season on loan at La Liga side Eibar, and he bagged 18 goals in 36 league appearances.
Mundo Deportivo claimed Francesco Guidolin believes Baston would be ideal for the Welsh club, and that a deal could be completed this week.
Yesterday, Guidolin even admitted Baston is on the verge of signing for Swansea after their 1-0 win over Rennes.
The BBC in England believe Swansea have agreed a fee of £15m with Atletico Madrid for Baston, but reports in Spain suggest something else.
Spanish website Sport reckon the transfer fee is around £10m for the Spaniard. However, another Spanish website El Confidencial believe the transfer fee is £15m, and that the player is very close to completing his move to Swansea.
Earlier, there were suggestion Atletico Madrid want a buy back clause on Baston, but there is no mention of that in the latest reports. Tottenham had made an approach earlier this year, with the Spanish media expecting a deal, but nothing came of it.
It’s quite likely a buyback clause would have killed a Tottenham deal, so it’d be no surprise if one is included.
