Earlier today, we covered claims from Sport Mediaset which said Chelsea defender Malang Sarr is working on his move away from the club.
It was claimed by the Italian outlet that the player travelled to Milan, as he edges closer to a transfer to Inter Milan in the January window.
Sarr would first be moving on a loan deal until the end of the season, and the agreement would include a purchase option for the Serie A giants of around €15m.
However, not everyone in Italian media is buying that story. CalcioMercato.it now comes up with a piece saying the talks don’t stand as reported.
The website writes there are ‘no advanced negotiations’ for the French defender, at least for now.
Calcio Mercato don’t rule out that Sarr becomes a ‘concrete goal’ for Inter, as they’re in need of a centre-back, have followed the player since his time at Nice, and have good relationships both with his agent as with Chelsea. The outlet just doesn’t believe that the 22-year-old was sorting his move to the Nerazzurri today.
The Frenchman has only been used three times by Thomas Tuchel this season, so it would be no surprise to see his agent pushing for a deal in the January window.
Both Sport Mediaset and Calcio Mercato point out the good connections that Federico Pastorello has at the Italian side, and we don’t need to go very far back to remember that he worked on Romelu Lukaku’s transfer to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
