Real Betis have sent a second proposal to Manchester United over a loan deal for Antony this month.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who report that the Spanish side are confident they can get the ‘very complex operation’ over the line.
Estadio report that the main block to the deal is that Manchester United need to assume a large part of Antony’s salary. Betis simply couldn’t afford him otherwise.
But after exploring the possibility of a deal with a first offer to Manchester United, those in charge have now ‘launched a second proposal’.
Negotiations between the two sides have ‘accelerated’ in the last few hours. What was previously a pipe dream for Betis is now ‘much closer and more possible’. In other words, Betis firmly believe that they can get a deal done.
Progress was already made last week with the player’s agents. Antony sees Betis as a good destination for him. This has encouraged Betis’ leaders to continue working towards a possible deal. Optimism is now ‘growing considerably’ after the latest moves.
Now it is a matter of Betis convincing Manchester United they are the best option. That’s tricky given they need their Premier League counterparts to pay on the wage front.
