After Portuguese reports talking up Leicester interest and even an offer, Sport Witness were able to learn there’s been no offer.
Leicester City have initiated contact to learn the conditions of a deal, but that’s how far it’s gone so far. The player’s entourage are taking it as ‘no big deal’ until things go further.
On Saturday, Portuguese newspaper A Bola report, that as they said at the beginning of the month, ’emissaries’ from Leicester put forward a €25m ‘concrete proposal’ to sign the fullback.
This is slightly awkward, because we didn’t, talking down the original claims rather than firming them up.
Someone is clearly doing their best to talk up Leicester interest in Pereira and it may well be Porto themselves, trying to talk up the player’s value and using the €25m figure as a minimum.
