For the past month, a few reports from Germany have been claiming that Liverpool are interested in signing Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus.
It’s been said there’s been an exchange of contacts between the Premier League and the Bundesliga club, even though it doesn’t seem like serious negotiations are underway.
Now Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg brings another update on the situation. He writes on his Twitter account that Liverpool are a ‘highly interesting option for the player’.
It’s claimed that the Reds are ‘expected’ to soon make their concrete offer for the 24-year-old, even though that move shall depend on Jurgen Klopp’s wish.
Still, we can’t expect a quick result from this pursuit, because according to Plettenberg, a decision on Neuhaus’ future shall only be taken after the Euros, as he’s currently with the German squad.
The journalist’s previous reports have been claiming that Liverpool would need to spend over €40m to take Neuhaus out of Borussia Mönchengladbach. With no release clause and a contract running until 2024, he’s well protected by the Bundesliga side.
