Newcastle United have become the latest candidate chasing Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot.

According to Calciomercato, the midfielder’s mother Veronique Rabiot, who is also his agent, is working on taking her son away from the Serie A winners.

The Frenchman earns a net salary of €7m per season at the Turin club and his mother is said to be of the belief that only clubs in the Premier League would be able to offer such wages.

It’s claimed the negotiations have started with three clubs in England, including the Magpies.

The Tyneside club have ‘pressed their foot on the accelerator’ for the 25-year-old in the past few days and they are ready to offer him a ‘stellar’ package, which would ‘far exceed’ [including bonuses] what he is currently earning with the Old Lady.

There’s ‘concrete interest’ from Newcastle and the report adds this wouldn’t depend on the success of their expected takeover.

If it’s a cash only deal, Rabiot’s valuation would be between €20m and €30m, depending on the formula proposed [may include a direct sale or loan with obligation to buy].

Everton and Manchester United are also credited with an interest in the former Paris Saint-Germain man and Steve Bruce’s side now join them in the rumour.
