Club Brugge have aspirations to win the Belgian title this season and a big part of that will be Wesley Moraes.

The 22 year old Brazilian has been at the club since January 2016 when he joined from Slovakian side AS Trenčín.

A centre forward, the youngster has ten goals so far this season and six assists. He has a contract lasting until June 2023 but if he continues his current form then it’s unlikely he’ll stay much longer.

However, the Belgian club are totally against a sale in the current window.

HLN report Guangzhou Evergrande have already tried to sign him, putting forward a €25m offer which was rejected. Cardiff City are said to have made their own offer, with the amount not revealed, and there’s also interest from Newcastle United and West Ham, according to the claims.

The Belgian newspaper calls it ‘concrete and enormous interest’ and the message from Club Brugge to Wesley seems to be along the lines of: Help us win the title and then perhaps it’ll be time for transfer talk.

That won’t help Cardiff, Newcastle or West Ham in this window.
