Tottenham Hotspur have made several additions to their squad and claims from the past few days have talked about their interest in Atlético Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco.
On Tuesday, journalist Sacha Tavolieri said Antonio Conte is pushing Spurs to take the 28-year-old. He also explained there are ‘real negotiations’ between the two clubs over a potential deal.
Claims in Spain have dismissed any talks between the two clubs for the winger. The two clubs have held talks for the deal that saw Los Rojiblancos sign Sergio Reguilón earlier this week.
Marca state the Madrid club are aware the Belgium international’s €60m release clause is affordable for a few English clubs. He was an object of desire for the Premier League sides in January and now again this summer. His ‘final destination is still unknown’.
It is similar to what Arsenal did in signing Thomas Partey on deadline day of the 2020 summer window, after Atlético took Lucas Torreira on a loan deal from the Gunners.
With Spurs’ interest, ‘suspense’ is the word that’s being doing rounds at the Metropolitano as there is concern at the club of losing Carrasco.
Marco state Atlético and their fans ‘will not breathe easy’ until the window closes. They further add that Simeone will live the last hours of the market as a match, where losing means he will see Carrasco leave the club.
