Diogo Dalot is currently the first choice right-back at Manchester United and his fortunes changed after Ralf Rangnick arrived at Old Trafford.
Having parted ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last November, the Red Devils appointed the German as interim manager until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old has been a regular in recent months and his performances for the English club seem to have caught Fiorentina’s attention.
La Nazione, via Firenze Viola, state the Serie A side have identified two defender targets for the summer transfer window. They are the Portuguese international and Feyenoord’s Marcos Senesi.
The ‘competition is strong’ for Fiorentina to sign the United player, and ‘will remain so’, despite their technical director, Nicolás Burdisso, having ‘good relationship’ with Dalot’s camp.
However, the report doesn’t mention which are the clubs that are going to provide them ‘competition’ to the Italian club.
It’s even claimed the month of March ‘could be decisive’, probably for Fiorentina to start negotiating to sign both Dalot and Senesi.
