Bayern Munich chief Hasan Salihamidzic met with Leroy Sané’s new representatives, LIAN Sports, in Munich recently to discuss a move from Manchester City.
The forward has long been linked with a move to Bavaria and was close to securing a move in the summer before an injury suffered in the Community Shield ended that.
The interest remains, though, and according to SportBILD, talks recently took place ahead of a move in the summer.
They report that Salihamidzic met with LIAN Sports in Munich, which was already pushed last week, but Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was not part of the meeting.
He last had a meeting with Sané in January but has been ‘holding back’ since then as official negotiations will only be possible from April 1st when the Manchester City forward moves from David Beckham’s agency.
Rummenigge is ‘important’ in convincing Sané to make the move and persuade the 24-year-old he is their ‘dream’ signing.
So far Bayern are yet to discuss either salary or what role Sané would enjoy a the Allianz and SportBILD warn that the Bundesliga giants ‘run the risk’ of losing the lead they had in the race for his signature.
That’s because other top clubs, Barcelona and their La Liga rivals Real Madrid, are ‘starting their efforts’ to sign him in the summer.
They have already registered their interest with Manchester City, who have set a minimum €80-100m minimum price for the ‘basis of negotiations’.
