Despite the purchase of Luis Diaz from FC Porto, it appears that Liverpool aren’t quite done with the bolstering of their attack.
That’s according to Carlo Laudisa, who works for Gazzetta dello Sport, as the journalist spoke on the YouTube channel of Carlo Pellegatti about the Reds’ interest in Club Brugge’s Noa Lang.
This reported desire to sign the Dutchman from Jürgen Klopp’s side isn’t that new, with an article from back in October last year claiming the Anfield side were in the front row, but then it all went a bit quiet.
Perhaps they focused instead on Diaz when the opportunity came up, but they appear to be back in the mix, as Laudisa, relayed by Milan News 24, explained they were scaring off Milan.
He said: “Milan have followed Lang with great attention, but the request of €40m and the competition from Liverpool are putting the brakes on this negotiation.”
Instead, it’s pointed out the Serie A side are going after Charles De Ketelaere, who would cost a similar amount, but clearly is of more interest to them.
As for Liverpool, having already spent big on Diaz, it’s clear they are anticipating one of Sadio Mané or Mohamed Salah to eventually leave at some point, but the arrival of Lang, were it to ever happen, would suggest both could exit.
We aren’t there yet, and we haven’t seen much else about the Reds going too much after the winger, but the interest appears to be there still.
