On November 12th, InterLive.it reported Everton have instructed their scouts to closely follow Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Winsley Boteli.
The 17-year-old was promoted to the club’s U19 side last summer and has starred this season, managing 17 goals and an assist from 16 games. His fine displays have pleased Juventus and their technical director, Cristiano Giuntoli.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who state the Serie A side are keeping close tabs on the striker desired by Everton. In fact, Sean Dyche’s side could make it difficult for Juve to carry out a potential signing.
The Toffees have taken necessary steps in their efforts to try and secure the Switzerland U18 international’s services.
TMW explain that Everton have long been in contact with the youngster’s entourage and it’s particularly the competition from the English club that ‘worries’ the Old Lady in the chase for the young frontman.
Boteli’s current deal reportedly lasts until 2025 and the outlet claims the Bundesliga side have already offered him an improved deal.
A month ago, Boteli stated he aims to break into the German club’s first team this year.
If Everton are keen on acquiring the teenager’s services, they will have to first find a way to convince him to not sign an extension.
