At the end of last month, there was a report Portugal stating Manchester United are well on their way to sealing a move for Sporting’s Geovany Quenda.
The story was that a €60m transfer will go through in the summer and that an agreement was being reached between the two clubs.
A Bola have now spoken to Quenda’s youth coach Bernardo Bruschy and he shared his confidence about a potential move to Manchester United for the player at the age of 17.
Specifically on the Red Devils claims, he said: “Seeing his name being associated with clubs of the biggest size in Europe surprises me just because it is so early, I am not surprised if he gets there.”
Speaking further about how Quenda is already mature at a very young age, Bruschy explained: “Sometimes we forget that Quenda is only 17 years old. His maturity, his quality and the performance he can already give to the team, even though he is so young, are something out of the ordinary.
“And that makes us forget his age, but in fact he is only 17 years old and has a lot to improve and grow, but he is already a player who is at a state of maturity far ahead of what is normal for his age.”
During Ruben Amorim’s time at Sporting, the youngster usually played at right wing-back. So far this season, he has two goals and seven assists for the Portuguese side.
Considering the Red Devils’ shortage of players who can operate at wing-back effectively, Quenda looks like a potential summer incoming and is certainly one to keep an eye on.
