The Adama Traore excitement continues in the Spanish media, with the Wolves player being the subject of endless articles since the start of the current international break.
Luis de la Fuente knows Traore more than most, having been in charge of the player for Spain’s U19 side. Now the coach of the country’s U21 selection, he’s shared his excitement about the 24-year-old’s progress to the full national team, and potential to do even more in the future.
Quoted by La Vanguardia, Luis de la Fuente explained: “Adama was no surprise to me. We have followed him a lot, not just now. He spent two years with me in the U19s and I know him very well. The football and physical potential that he has is extraordinary.”
And it’s the physical side which the Spanish sport media have been mainly reporting on in recent days, along with hints, without any real basis, of a possible move to Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future.
The coach thinks Traore’s dedication to keeping himself fit is a good sign, but he seems to doubt the Wolves player’s claims that he doesn’t lift weights to keep his muscles in shape: “He recently said that he would like to do the 100 metres, there I think I will not be able to follow him… but in some things, like lifting weights, I’d be a tough nut too (laughs). He takes care of himself because his constitution demands it and I think it is a detail of a great professional.”
