Norwich City’s return to the Premier League hasn’t gone well so far, and they’ve lost all five league matches this season.
Towards the end of the summer window, the Canaries added Ozan Kabak to their squad.
The defender arrived at Carrow Road on a season-long loan deal from Schalke. The English club have an obligation to make his stay permanent if certain conditions are met.
Schalke had to get the centre-back off their wage bill after being relegated from the Bundesliga last season. Having done that in the summer, they are hopeful of receiving a fee from his sale at the end of the current season.
According to Ruhr24, the German club’s ‘transfer dream’ with the Turkey international ‘threatens to burst’.
It’s said the option to buy the 21-year-old will become an ‘obligation’ if Daniel Farke’s side avoid relegation. The figure is reportedly set at €17m.
However, Kabak’s loan transfer ‘threatens to turn into a nightmare’ for Schalke as Norwich are yet to pick up a point in the league.
Ruhr24 say Norwich’s results mean Schalke don’t maintain ‘too high hopes’ of Kabak being sold next summer.
