Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer has been a transfer target for AC Milan and Leicester City, if reports coming out of Italy are to be believed.
According to Calciomercato, Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenković remains the ‘forbidden dream’ for the Serie A club.
The Rossoneri are also working on other targets, and the Bhoys defender is among them. It’s claimed the option to sign Ajer has gained strengthen in ‘the last few hours’.
Milan’s scouts know the Norway international ‘by heart’, having watched him closely on numerous occasions last season.
Stefano Pioli’s side made first contact for the 22-year-old in May. As per the report, the Italian club maintain a ‘strong interest’ in the Hoops defender, and it ‘can become something more concrete’.
Milan chiefs Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are looking to bolster their defence by giving a new centre-back to Pioli before the window closes, and for that they have the Celtic player in their sights.
Calciomercato also adds Leicester and other unnamed Premier League clubs are keen on Ajer, who has two more years left on his contract and is valued around €20m.
