Jorginho to Manchester City, as close as it is to being complete, continues to rumble on in the Italian press, as Gazzetta dello Sport explain what’s going on behind the scenes.

For the most part, it’s positive, with the Italian newspaper reporting the deal should end up being completed at around €50m, bonuses included.

They also state that once the transfer fee has been sorted out, there should be no issue with the personal terms, as Jorginho’s willingness to play under Pep Guardiola isn’t questioned.

The hold up, however, is Napoli want to find the Italy international’s replacement first, which could be either Fabian Ruiz or Lucas Torreira.

While that, in essence, shouldn’t be too difficult, the Serie A club have set themselves a limit they’re willing to pay salary wise, which is the amount Jorginho was on (around €1.6m/year).

So, Gazzetta ask what could happen to speed everything up?

Napoli could take a decisive step towards the aforementioned targets, but there’s also the possibility of Oleksandr Zinchenko being included in the deal.

While TuttoMercatoWeb reported on Tuesday that Ancelotti was convinced by the Ukrainian, Gazzetta don’t believe that’s the case yet, as the Manchester City youngster was a Maurizio Sarri target.

For the chunk of the Etihad faithful potentially panicking, don’t.

Gazzetta believe that with or without Zinchenko in the deal, Jorginho’s transfer will end up being completed.

When that is, they don’t know yet, but they feel ‘it’s urgent to do it as soon as possible’.
