Wolverhampton Wanderers are in the picture to sign SC Braga’s Rodrigo Gomes, according to multiple reports from Portugal.
The winger has been on loan at Estoril since the summer, and has managed six goals and six assists from 18 games, operating mainly as a right wing-back. His form seems to have caught the Premier League side’s attention.
Maisfutebol state negotiations with Braga are ‘very well underway’ to sell the 20-year-old to Wolves for €12m.
It’s said the Portugal U21 international will have to fulfil his loan deal with Estoril and will move to Molineux after this season.
This is echoed by A Bola, who state Gary O’Neil’s side are negotiating a deal with Braga for around €12m, which could rise up to €15m if bonuses are included.
Wolves would be closing in on a deal for the versatile player but he may arrive at the club after this season.
Braga cannot unilaterally cut short Gomes’ loan stay and have to find an agreement with Estoril, for Wolves to bring him to England this month.
A Bola state Braga haven’t made contact yet and have to pay compensation to Estoril, if they want to terminate Gomes’ temporary stay in January.
Estoril, for their part, are counting on the player to finish the season with them.
