Clubs in Spain are lining up ready to make a move for West Ham United midfielder Guido Rodriguez as he plots a ‘hasty departure’ from the London Stadium.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who report that Girona, Villarreal and Real Sociedad are all ‘exploring his signing’ from July.

The newspaper reports that there is an acceptance that Rodriguez will be leaving West Ham this summer as he isn’t going through the best moment at the club under Graham Potter.

He arrived at West Ham in the summer on a free transfer but the move ‘hasn’t gone well for him’ and he is now playing a marginal role at the London Stadium.

They explain that he finds his role ‘diminishing’ under Potter, and he’s only started five games since November. He hasn’t finished any of those games. That’s worsened since the start of 2025 and now has him ‘on the verge’ of a move away as soon as the window opens.

According to them ‘many’ teams are already looking to learn the details of his contract situation ahead of that point. They name Girona, Villarreal and Real Sociedad specifically.

Their hopes will be boosted by the fact the midfielder’s plans include a return to Spain, where he previously shone with Real Betis.

Whether that happens remains to be seen but all the signs are pointing one way, and that is not towards an extended stay at West Ham.
