Allain Saint Maximin’s entourage have confirmed they’ve held ‘exchanges’ with AC Milan as the Frenchman eyes a potential departure from Newcastle United before the end of the window.
That’s according to Goal France, who cover the situation around the winger after reports earlier today that he could be on his way out of St James Park.
They explain that Saint Maximin has been a ‘recurring substitute’ for Newcastle this season and, as a result, wants to find playing time elsewhere.
He has ‘come to terms’ with the fact he needs to leave the Magpies, even temporarily, and Milan would be a ‘good solution’ for him.
They are interested in a potential deal and the Newcastle man is ‘now considering’ the move to Italy should it be offered to him.
This has been confirmed by his entourage to Goal, who say that there have been ‘exchanges’ with Milan that could lead to a loan offer with an option to buy him from Newcastle in the summer.
That bid could be made ‘in the next few hours’ but has been ‘formally denied internally’ by Milan for the time being. To be clear, then, Saint Maximin’s agents believe a bid could be made soon but Milan are denying that is the case.
Either way the Frenchman appears to be on his way out of Newcastle before the end of the January transfer window.
