Juventus are interested in a move for Chelsea midfielder Jorginho this summer, and the player is more than keen on the return to Italy.

That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say the interest from Juventus ‘flatters’ the Blues midfielder, and he is ready to return to Serie A.

Gazzetta explain that Jorginho’s price ‘intrigues’ Juventus, who are keen to add another midfielder to their squad as manager Max Allegri has been calling for a ‘conductor’ to be added to his team.

He wanted Miralem Pjanic last summer, but the club didn’t have the funds to do it, so that fell by the wayside.

This year, though, the finances at the club are in better shape, and a ‘deal appears within reach’ when it comes to Jorginho.

His contract at Chelsea is set to expire in 15 months time, so his price has ‘clearly dropped’, while the complicated situation around Roman Abramovich, particularly after he was sanctioned by the UK government, means there could be financial problems on the horizon at Stamford Bridge.

Thus, players could be sold, and Juve’s ‘attentions’ are said to ‘flatter’ Jorginho. He is ready for a new adventure after four years in the Premier League and is aware Juventus have ‘ambitious’ plans moving forwards.

They believe the cost of getting him is ‘relatively affordable’, especially because he can take advantage of the Italian Growth Decree.

That sees players pick up a potential 50% discount on taxes, meaning a salary of €6m net would only translate to €9m gross for Juventus, a figure they can easily afford.

Whether Chelsea will be willing to sell up for debate, but Jorginho has made it clear he is ‘ready to turn the page’ and with his contract as it is, they could be forced to sell or run the risk of losing him on a free transfer.
