It appears that Trevoh Chalobah, despite Inter moving on from him, could still be heading to San Siro in the foreseeable future.

That’s because the Chelsea defender is now a target for Milan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who have been looking for a centre-back of their own over the past few weeks.

Their pursuit of Japhet Tanganga was testament to that, but they have moved on from him and focused on the 23-year-old, currently at Stamford Bridge.

He fits what Milan are looking for, with that being a similar profile to Fikayo Tomori, which is why, in the last few hours, the enquiries ‘carried out with Chelsea have turned into real dialogue’.

It’s made clear that Chalobah ‘likes’ the idea of the move, and the Serie A side are ‘weighing the pros and cons before sinking the blow’.

The advantage they have over Inter in all this is the fact they are willing to pay some money up front to secure their man on loan.

Chelsea have pointed out the centre-back can leave on only two conditions, which is ‘a dry loan’, meaning he will be guaranteed to return at Stamford Bridge, ‘and for the price of €3m’, which ‘would not be an obstacle’ for Milan should they decide to pursue this avenue further.

A lot depends on whether Todd Boehly manages to get Wesley Fofana, and Milan do have an alternative to the Blues man in Malick Thiaw, currently at Schalke.
