AC Milan have seen a first survey for Joao Felix rejected by Chelsea, who don’t intend to let him go for now.
That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who reports Chelsea are not open to a loan move this month. This is something they’ve made clear to the Italian side.
Di Marzio reports that the Rossoneri have made an initial survey for the Portuguese forward to Chelsea. He is one of new manager Sergio Conceiçao’s favourite targets for this month.
He’s one of several players the Italian side have inquired about. Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is another.
The belief was that Chelsea might be open to a deal for Felix as he is not finding space with Enzo Maresca this season. He’s made just three appearances as a starter in the Premier League.
Chelsea, though, have not currently opened up to the possibility of a loan deal. There is no mention about whether they’d sanction a permanent sale.
The 25-year-old only joined on a permanent basis in August in a €52m deal from Atletico Madrid. That was after spending last season on loan with Barcelona. Before that he spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan with Chelsea.
It seems the Blues are not yet ready to give up on him just yet, at least if all Milan can offer is a loan deal this month.
