After scoring a goal against Manchester City last night, Mario Pasalic is obviously being highlighted by the Italian media today.

The midfielder is having a loan spell at Atalanta until the end of the season, and the Serie A side have the chance to sign him permanently from Chelsea by using a buying option.

Tutto Mercato Web brings a story today saying the player didn’t have such an impressive spell in the first year, and the club took a risk by extending his loan in the summer.

Now due to Pasalic’s improvement, the scenario has completely changed. They claim that the use of the buying option ‘seems obvious now’, as Atalanta would have to spend another €15m to get him on a permanent deal.

Signed from HNK Hajduk Split in 2012, Pasalic is one of the many Chelsea loanees who never had a real chance with the Blues. He’s had loan spells at Elche, Monaco, Milan, Spartak Moscow and Atalanta.
