Earlier today, we covered an article from TuttoMercatoWeb, who themselves relayed La Stampa, explaining that Fabio Paratici had been spotted in London.
The reason for the Juventus director of football’s trip to England’s capital was quite obvious (transfer business), and so articles have been written.
That one was about United’s interest in Mario Mandzukić and the possibility of him being included in a deal for Paul Pogba, yet there’s another club Paratici is likely to be talking to, and that’s Chelsea.
That’s what Corriere dello Sport are pushing on Wednesday, talking about the ‘mission in London’, where they talk about the ‘big name’ on Juventus’ list of desired players: Willian.
The Serie A champions are circling around the Brazilian, and that’s because his contract is up at the end of the season, and we all know how much they love a free transfer.
However, the forward isn’t the only player on their list, as it’s stated Maurizio Sarri would like an alternative for Alex Sandro down the left hand side, which is where Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso would come in.
The former Chelsea manager is a big fan of the Italy international, as he showed by picking him above the Spaniard during his tenure at Stamford Bridge, but the veteran full-back remains an option nevertheless, since the Premier League club ‘don’t want to lose’ the 25-year-old.
In fact, they’d even be ready to offer him a new contract until 2022.
This could be a very interesting next few months for Chelsea, especially if their transfer ban holds up, as they’ll be increasingly reluctant to let anyone go without bringing in replacements.
